The Valle d’Itria is the land of elegant towns of white houses, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, but above all stone, lime and Trulli land. Morphologically and structurally old, the trullo, singular construction with the base of mortar and coverage of conical chiancarelle, generally occurs as isolated incident except for Alberobello. Only town consisting entirely of these peasant houses of the sixteenth century it was recognized in 1996 by ‘UNESCO World Heritage Site.
